Hello everybody,

Time to talk taxobox. Not that there's something wrong with them, but this relates to the new subjects we may be focusing on.

For example, we've been thinking of including feeder insects. How easy are they to mantain in numbers? What types of herp can you feed them to? What can you safely gutload them with? This at-a-glance info can be provided with a new infobox structure.

That's why I think we might need some new templates to toy with for different types of articles. Species, Feeder Animals, Care Tips, these could work with their own seperate types of boxes.

What's the verdict? Styracosaurus Rider 16:49, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, actually, I'm planning on upgrading the herp taxobox for things like that. I also think that an additional infobox (under the normal one) stating some details, for example if it was a Bearded Dragon or some similar commonly captive reptile, it would list things like temperament, handling, experience required, etc. Thesaurus Rex 11:35, November 19, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah. Depends on the animal really to figure out what kind of box you need. There's the popular ones like the beardies, geckos, anoles, and that, which would need a more expanded box. Then there's the also popular herps that are not kept as pets (at least I hope not) like anacondas, Komodos, and others like that which might benefit more about lifestyle in the wild. And then there's the obscure, known-only-by-four-top-notch-herpetologists creatures, which if we're even going to bother making boxes for these, should probably include a decent picture if there is one. Hopefully we can figure out some sort of template (as I may have said before, I'm not so good with long, ongoing HTML script) to use for these. Styracosaurus Rider 14:05, November 20, 2010 (UTC)
